102 Minutes That Changed America
102 Minutes That Changed America is a 102-minute documentary film that was produced by History and premiered without commercials on September 11th, 2008, which was the seventh anniversary of the attacks.
The movie chronicles the events of the September 11 attacks in New York in virtually real time, the majority of the footage is composed of amateur citizen journalists, this primarily uses raw video. The documentary is followed by a documentary short called I-Witness to 9/11 that features interviews with nine people who witnessed the event in person. These people recorded the footage on camera.
This movie claims that the majority of the archival video footage was in the possession of the U.S. government, however, it was released to History years after the 9/11 attacks.
This film was shown on Channel 4 in the UK, France 3 in France and History Channel in Brazil on Monday 07 September 2009. In the Netherlands, it was aired on SBS6 on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009.
