The events of September 11, 2001 have left permanent scars on the psyche of the United States and the rest of the world. It opened up the global understanding of modern terrorism and sparked an ongoing war that shows no signs of abating. The longing to deal with this catastrophic moment in history has taken many forms over the years — from sombre sadness to renewed patriotism to outright outrage.

But a section of the population is driven by skepticism; from the first wave of aftermath of the tower’s collapse, they have accused them of involvement in a massive conspiracy. The bold title 9/11 Conspiracy Solved is representative of this point of view.

Based on years of research by investigators Michael C. Ruppert, Mark H. Gaffney, and Kevin Ryan, the film claims that 9/11 was the ultimate inside job. They claim the airstrikes were orchestrated to cover up a $240 billion covert operation launched years ago with the primary aim of weakening the post-Cold War Soviet Union. The business was funded by $10 million in securities due September 12, 2001.

As the film progresses, viewers are quickly assailed by a series of roughly detailed allegations involving salvaged hard drives, specific victims who were attacked in the tower, suspicious money transfers that occurred moments before the attack, and playing a role in the attack. The role of insurance giant AIG may have played a role in this process.

The idea of solving a 9/11 conspiracy doesn’t have the complexity or pace that a seasoned filmmaker can bring to a shot, and it doesn’t seem to realize how to deliver and absorb information effectively. It’s essentially a lecture delivered at breakneck pace and set up as a slide presentation. Over the course of 43 minutes, the film’s narrator outlines a dizzying array of connections and inconsistencies — some of which could easily have been explored in greater depth alone — but the very nature of the production, plus some A disturbing lack of certification, its own more inflammatory claim, undermines the film’s efforts to piss off audiences at nearly every turn.
