Addicted To Plastic, a documentary about the history of plastic and how it dominates our lives. From Styrofoam cups to artificial organs, plastic may be the most ubiquitous and versatile material ever invented. In the past 100 years, no single invention has had more impact and impact than plastic. But this progress has come at a price.

For better or worse, no part of an ecosystem or human activity escapes the containment of plastic. Addicted To Plastic is a global tour to examine how much we really know about this material with a thousand uses, and why there are so many damn things. Along the way, we discover a toxic legacy, and the men and women working to eradicate it.

Addicted To Plastic is a point-of-view documentary filmed over 3 years in 12 countries on 5 continents, including two trips to the plastic-heavy Central Pacific. The film traces the evolution of plastics over the past 100 years and features extensive interviews with experts on practical and innovative solutions for recycling, toxicity and biodegradability. These solutions – including plastics made from plants – will provide viewers with new perspectives on the future of plastics.
