The social care home is the main employer in the small village of Mogilino, where 75 abandoned children are growing up. Few children can speak, not necessarily because they cannot but because they have never been taught.
Kate met children in this miserable, silent world, like Milan, a gentle giant who does housework and takes care of others all day long, and 18-year-old Didi, who is slightly autistic, can talk, and has a lot to do, but There is no one to talk to. The children around them suffer from all kinds of problems, many are blind or deaf, some cannot leave their beds, and many are literally withered.
Leave it to the crew at Mogilino, these kids live in a desolate, indifferent world, devoid of normal daily stimulation to the point that many have to slowly and constantly rock their chairs just to get something done.
There are more children with physical and mental disabilities in Bulgaria than anywhere else in Europe. The film is a heartbreaking and eye-opening glimpse into life at such an institution.
