In sub-zero temperatures 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Dutchman Wim Hof attempted to run the full 26-mile marathon wearing only shorts and a pair of sandals.
Hof currently holds nine arctic world records, but this impressive feat of endurance surpasses all his previous adventures. Exposing the body to temperatures of -25°C for more than four hours is a remarkable challenge that experts fear is beyond the capabilities of humans.
The film follows Wim’s preparations in Amsterdam, which included midnight baths in icy canals and meditations in meat freezers. It also examines how Wim’s extreme behavior affects his family life.
