Because we all inhabit the Earth, we are all considered Earthlings. There is nothing sexist, racist, or speciesist about the term earthlings. It covers each of us, warm-blooded or cold-blooded, mammals, vertebrates or invertebrates, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and humans.

Humans are therefore not the only species on this planet, sharing this world with millions of other creatures as we co-evolve. EARTHLINGS is a feature-length documentary about humanity’s absolute dependence on animals (pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research), while also showing our utter disrespect for these so-called “non-human providers”. The film is narrated by Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix (Gladiator) and features a score by acclaimed platinum artist Moby.

Through in-depth research on pet stores, puppy mills and animal shelters, as well as factory farms, the leather and fur trade, the sports and entertainment industries, and the medical and scientific industries, EARTHLINGS uses hidden cameras and unprecedented – to explore some of the world’s largest industry-documented footage of day-to-day practices, all of which rely solely on animals for profit.

Powerful, informative, and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is the most comprehensive documentary ever written on the relationship between nature, animals, and human economic interests. There are many worthy animal rights films out there, but this one transcends scenery. EARTHLINGS scream to be seen. highly recommended!
