In Their Own Words: Deepwater Horizon
On April 20, 2010, when the deep -water horizon exploded and lived on a diamond island, it was how dangerous. This led to the biggest oil leakage incident in the history of the entire marine oil hole operation. It is also considered the largest environmental disaster in American history.
Deepwater Horizo N is the most advanced semi -small oil drill. The property and operation of Transopan rented BP at a price of half million US dollars a day. It is dynamically positioned by satellites and is located near the coast of Louisiana, Mexico.
On April 20, 2010, the explosion occurred around 10 pm. At that time, 126 people worked on the boat. At about 9 pm, the workers noticed the source of the rig. At 9:40 pm, when they were difficult to seal the fountain, a huge bastard shook the drill and flammable gas alert. Within a few minutes, the workers heard a louder hiss and made a sound, not the engine began to cover.
The staff did not even have the opportunity to check the surveillance system. Your computer and all light -start to explode throughout the dark and sneak into a rig. Then they heard that the engine suddenly kept silent, and immediately exploded on the drill, exploded, collapsed walls and blankets, and so on.
Methangas accumulated and opened the drill column and ignited immediately. All workers have found a way to enter the ignition. This is a terrible experience for everyone -it is dark and hot. Since the oil well is located at the bottom of the rhinestone, the fire can only rise up -directly on it.
Alerts were exploded, and the United States Coast Guard arrived with the helicopter rescue team and several rescue vessels. However, calories and oil are very difficult to evacuate rig. The helicopter concentratedly removed the seriously injured person and flew away from the drill when he fixed it on the Gurney.
Some workers even jumped into the water 75 feet to avoid disasters. After all, they can do it certainly, although 11 rig workers have disappeared and they have never found their bodies.
The deep water horizon burned the next half of the ground, then collapsed, and finally sank into the ocean. There is no way to save it or delete the fire. There are too many oil, the only way is to burn it.
Investigating the incident, there are now new regulations to prevent similar accidents in the future. Under the shadow of the largest industrial disaster in human history, the 11 disappeared crews did pay the final price.
