What is Islam? Who is Muhammad? This is a documentary about Islam narrated by Ben Kingsley that attempts to answer these questions. The first part tells the life of Prophet Muhammad, his early life, his encounter with Almighty God and the birth of Islam.
1. Prophet Muhammad and the rise of Islam. Islam will be the revival force in barbaric Arabia, bringing people back to God and, most powerfully, to the monotheistic message of Christianity and Judaism. Islamic women gained rights over their husbands, racism was eradicated, and the rich and the poor were equal.
2. Awakening. This part refers to the Golden Age of Islam. Europe was immersed in the Middle Ages, an age of intellectual prosperity. Build great architecture, read, write, math, medicine and astronomy. Even before the printing press, Muslims had hundreds of scribes writing simultaneously so they could study and copy the Bible.
3. The Ottomans. This part involves the growing Ottoman Empire, which will control the bridge between the three continents of Africa, Europe and Asia. This empire will run from the end of the Crusades to the beginning of World War I, from 1300 to 1923. They will rule the entire Middle East and enter Europe. Before the existence of the State of Israel, the Holy Land was very peaceful under the rule of the Ottoman Empire.
