John Richard Pilger is an Australian journalist based in London. From his early days as a war correspondent in Vietnam, Pilger has been a scathing critic of the foreign policies of the United States, Australia and Britain, which he says are driven by an imperialist agenda.
Pilger also criticized the treatment of Indigenous Australians in his home country and the mainstream media.
In the UK print media, he has a longstanding relationship with the Daily Mirror and writes a fortnightly column for the New Statesman.
Pilger is a two-time winner of the British Journalist of the Year award, his documentaries have screened internationally, winning awards in the UK and around the world, and the journalist has received several honorary doctorates.
