Documentary about the life of legendary country music star Johnny Cash, who died in 2003 shortly after completing the retrospective Unearthed, a five-disc set of acoustic performances at the end of his life Decade started his career resurrecting his wife, June Carter Cash, after losing his career.

This is the first major retrospective of Cash’s life, times and music, including his daughter Rosanne Cash and son John Carter Cash, his longtime manager Lou Robin and fellow musicians Little Richard, Cowboy Jack Clement, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard and contributions from Elvis Costello.

The son of a poor sharecropper in Kingsland, Arkansas, Cash would sing himself folk, spiritual and country songs while picking cotton in his fields. Signed to Sam Phillips’ Sun Records in the ’50s, he scored his first hits and played with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Carl Perkins formed the Million Dollar Quartet.
