The film attempts to tell the life story of the man Gandhi and his never-ending quest for truth. In this world full of hatred and violence, this peaceful and kind man stands against all evil and injustice with the power of his soul. It stands out as a challenge with a message of truth and nonviolence, the sublime and infinite love. He is Mahatma – the great soul – the name given to him by the people of India.

Gandhi left an indelible mark on human history. His thoughts are always relevant to anyone striving for a better, more fulfilling life. The Gandhi National Memorial Trust has made a humble attempt to preserve the memory of Gandhi by presenting the first full biographical documentary of his life, which largely reflects the history of India’s struggle for freedom.

Animation, live photography and old prints are mixed together to present a complete picture of his life. Some of the material may not be technically perfect, but it is a true representation of the story. The story is also told in a simple yet dignified manner, mostly using Gandhi’s own words.

Even a full-length documentary is not enough to paint a picture of Gandhi’s illustrious life and activities. Length is unavoidable here, with the goal of presenting the complete picture; short films depicting various aspects of his life will also be shown.
