Marc Dutroux (born 6 November 1956 in Brussels) was one of the sickest people to ever live.

He is a Belgian criminal convicted of abducting, torturing and sexually abusing six girls aged 8 to 19 in 1995 and 1996, resulting in the death of four of them.

He was also convicted of killing his alleged former accomplice, Bernard Weinstein.

He was arrested in 1996 and has been in prison since then. His much publicized trial took place in 2004. The series of lapses Dutroux investigated sparked widespread dissatisfaction with the country’s criminal justice system in Belgium, and the ensuing scandal contributed to a restructuring of Belgium’s law enforcement agencies.

The failure of the Belgian government to catch him almost sparked a revolution. Did the government prevent his arrest? Is there a cover up? Take a look and decide for yourself.
