The Mysteries of Asia’s three-part video series was originally intended for the Learning Channel. During this portion of the program, historians and others discuss temples built in India over 1,000 years ago. Today, tourists rarely visit them, however, they are still quite intriguing. Records show that elephants that were professionally trained were required to drag thousands of tons of stone to assist in the construction of these structures.
The report acknowledges that due to the temples’ size, the U.S. Senate, Versailles, the Houses of Parliament, and St. Paul’s Basilica in Rome could all fit in one of them.
Michael Bell speaks over the footage and animated maps are employed to explain to viewers what these ancient structures looked like and why they were constructed.
