With her father approaching retirement, Rebecca returns to her family’s wildlife-friendly farm in Devon to be the next generation to work the land. But last year’s high gas prices sounded the alarm for Rebecca. Realizing that all food production in the UK is entirely dependent on the abundance of cheap fossil fuels, especially oil, she set out to find out how secure the oil supply was.
Stunned by the answers, she researched ways to farm without using fossil fuels. With the help of pioneer farmers and breeders, Rebecca learned that nature holds the key to a low-energy future of agriculture.
