Bulldogs were brought to the United States from Ireland and England and became American family pets. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, he was the average American household’s favorite dog. Intelligent, malleable and loyal, Pit Bulls are intelligent animals who truly love people. But what have we done to turn our friends into ferocious beasts to get rid of?

If we can figure out how we do this to these animals, we might learn some lessons about how we do it to ourselves. The American Bulldog today is very different than it was twenty years ago. What happened to this breed is largely what happened to other breeds because of their popularity as top dogs. This means breeding them for the wrong reasons and subjecting them to unacceptable conditions.

This breed was used as a macho dog by the younger generation. They got him into fights with other dogs and gave him a bad name. People have a pit bull instinct to bond with humans, genuinely love their owners, and they totally manipulate them to use these dogs to fight another dog.

Underworld combined these elements, realizing they could train the bulldog into a villainous fighting creation. It’s so underground, so ingrained, that the American public barely knows it’s happening.

How could anyone think of this as “sports,” “entertainment,” and of course anything reminiscent of so-called “professionals”? Of all the breeds, pit bulls are probably the number one breed currently owned by irresponsible, reckless and abusive owners. Breeding of this dog mainly revolves around its fighting ability, with little regard for other aspects and characteristics.
