Plastic Tide: Choking on Coke
Plastic pollution suffocate our ocean and cause damage to several fish. Coca -Cola, one of the largest plastic bottle manufacturers, promises to take measures to curb this environmental crisis. Are these empty commitments or Cola really trying to make wise changes? The DW documentaries brought this great company in the plastic tide: suffocating Coke.
Coca -Cola sells more than 400 million bottles of plastic bottles in its various beverage brands each year, of which up to 10 % of bottle will end their life span on the bottom of the sea. As we observed at the earliest time of the movie, a large part of this plastic residue was consumed due to the unwilling marine life.
Coca -Cola believes that you have a solution. They promoted a “worldless world” and imagined the future of recycling indefinitely. However, in the past, large organizations such as Cola have caused responsibility for pollution. Instead, they focus on consumers through overwhelming popular advertising activities (such as “Keep Americanschön”). They do not produce a large amount of plastic bottles that can cause pollution, but the negligence of those who drink.
In addition, the company has promised to pack its products in recycling plastic for decades, but does not promise to achieve this goal. As we guided during the film, you currently use only 7 % of recycled plastics. Movie producers have obtained many confidential company documents, which further illustrates the company’s incompetence. Overall, they represent a company instruction that uses the empty campaign slogan to estimate the reasons for environmental responsibility.
Film producers call for the establishment of environmental experts, marine biologists and other high -quality marine pollution researchers to support their cases. The film also goes to Tanzania to study large -scale recycling business. Tanzania is one of the most powerful regions in the world and imported recyclable waste. From there, the workers observed the workers’ cameras climbed on the plastic base and sat on the literal garbage mountain.
Plastic flood: The suffocation of cola is a lofty task to summarize a problem that seems unable to overcome.
