Return to Source: Philosophy and The Matrix
This documentary covers many of the philosophical concepts that inspired and are presented throughout the trilogy. The first half is watching the original movie, and the rest of the time is part 2 and part 3, which has some content about the Animatrix short film.
It consists of clips from the aforementioned publications and interviews. It conveys various ideas well to the audience, although it obviously takes longer to understand all the symbolism in it, and one can ask a very apt question as to whether anything so clear and certain is needed for the audience or Same as the Wachowskis.
While that means this is limited, it should be enough to inspire and provide food for thought. In keeping with the series, this is likely to spark debate rather than provide hard-and-fast answers. Whether or not they care probably depends on how much they know about the subject, ancient ideas, and how much they think about the existence of these things in these three screen endeavors.
Of course, it also makes a difference whether you want to think specifically about the implications you might glean from it.
