Jon Snow presents a forensic analysis of the final months of the long civil war between the government of Sri Lanka and the rebel Tamil Tigers, this conflict lasted for 50 years.
The video recorded by civilians depicted horrifying scenes during and after intense bombing of civilian targets, including hospitals, by the Sri Lankan military. The video of the trophy that was filmed by Sri Lankan soldiers depicted disturbing scenes of executions that were blindfolded, naked women whose bodies were dragged onto trucks, and soldiers who made lewd comments about the victims.
The documentary also featured interviews with civilians who survived the conflict, United Nations personnel based in Sri Lanka during the conflict, human rights organizations and international law experts. The documentary was produced by ITN Productions and narrated by Jon Snow, who was the primary presenter of the program on Channel 4 News. The government of Sri Lanka has condemned the documentary as a fabrication.
