The Anatomy of a Great Deception
Nearly a decade after the tragic events of 9/11, entrepreneur David Hooper is beginning to question the official narrative of the time. Tormenting doubt quickly turned into obsession. His search for another truth behind the attack quickly leads to discord within the family and near financial collapse. Hooper’s feature-length documentary, “The Anatomy of a Great Deception,” summarizes his insights during this tumultuous period of discovery.
Of course, Hooper isn’t the only one who thinks this is a conspiracy. When his doubts first emerged, more and more ordinary citizens and people from all walks of life began their own amateur investigations. Their results largely illustrate Hooper’s own conclusions.
For him and many others, the strange collapse of Building 7 represented one of the building blocks of a possible conspiracy. 300 feet from the North Tower – the length of a football field – Building 7 collapsed in the late afternoon of September 11. Investigators claim it collapsed due to structural damage caused by the high-temperature strength of the adjacent twin towers. However, in examining other high-rise buildings threatened by raging fires, Hooper was unable to find a single incident of nearby buildings collapsing as a by-product of such events. In fact, none of the buildings that actually caught fire collapsed. Several engineers also came forward, claiming that the temperature of the fire that day would not have succeeded in melting the tower’s steel structure. Could this be a sign of controlled demolition?
Hooper meticulously goes on to present the day’s findings, supporting the disturbing hypothesis, including sightings of molten metal, eyewitness accounts of explosions, and the strangely symmetrical trajectory of each tower’s collapse. Scattered here and there are archived interview footage from researchers, investigators, construction experts and even fire officials, all expressing the same skepticism.
As with all conspiracy films, “The Anatomy of a Great Deception” presents a case that can be wholeheartedly accepted by some and flatly rejected by others. But it justifies its theory with sincerity and conviction.
