Many historians believe that the war’s start was caused by the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party, they took over Poland in 1939. This aggressive behavior was immediately condemned by Britain and France, who threatened to engage in full-scale war if German soldiers failed to withdraw. Their admonition was disregarded.

The following narrative is complex, featuring the rapid spread of tyranny, innovative combat strategy, the strengths and weaknesses of the most powerful leaders on Earth, and a series of military events including the loss of France, Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain, and Hitler’s first attempt at war with the Soviet Union.

The second segment immerses us in the increasing hostilities between Japan and the U.S., as well as the surprise airstrike on Pearl Harbor. The date that would forever be associated with disaster required a swift and powerful response from the U.S. as they officially began their involvement in the conflict.

From the incomprehensible horror of the deaths of hundreds of millions of soldiers and civilians to the incredible acts of bravery in the face of overwhelming odds, the documentary honors the vast scope of the Second World War with profound and solemn respect.

As a result of questionable combat mission conditions, Gulf War veterans have suffered from a host of conditions from memory loss to various cancers. In each case, the government has been slow to acknowledge their role in perpetuating these illnesses or to provide assistance in treating them.
