Scientists predict that if we continue to fish at current rates, we will see the end of most seafood by 2048.

An ocean without fish. Imagine a meal without seafood. Imagine the global consequences. This is the future if we don’t stop to think and act.

The End of the Line tells how demand for cod off the coast of Newfoundland in the early 1990s depleted the world’s most extensive cod stock, how high-tech fishing vessels left no escape routes for fish stocks, and how farmed fish was the solution Nurture is a myth.

The film blames innocent consumers buying endangered fish, politicians ignoring the advice and pleas of scientists, fishermen fishing illegally against quotas, and the global fish industry slow to respond to looming disaster.
