The Fight for Amazonia
A three-part series from the heart of the Amazon jungle explores the progress being made to save the world’s most endangered tropical rainforest.
1. Rainforest Raid. The first film follows Brazil’s youngest national park director as he declares war on the drug gangs, logging mafia and illegal fishing that threaten the Amazon rainforest.
2. The Ship of Justice. Many people who live in the Amazon are invisible to the Brazilian government. They lack access to health care, social services or the justice system. But a woman named Judge Sueli Pini is changing that. She is on a boat to deliver justice and health care.
3. Internet Indians. The Ashaninka tribe lives in the Amazon rainforest, which is rich in tropical timber. Their land has been raided by illegal logging gangs who have killed and threatened villagers. Now the Horde is fighting back, and the Internet is their weapon.
