The Phoenix Lights (sometimes called Phoenix Lights) are a series of highly visible optical phenomena (often UFOs) that were seen over the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada and the Mexican state of Sonora on March 13, 1997 On February 6, 2007, the lights rebroadcast and was filmed by local television station Fox News.

A similar incident occurred on April 21, 2008. The incident was later revealed to be a flashlight attached to a helium balloon.

Between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. CST, thousands of people saw lights of varying descriptions along a stretch of about 300 miles from the Nevada line through Phoenix to the edge of Tucson. The event involved two distinct events: a triangle of lights sweeping across the state, and a series of still lights in the Phoenix area.

The United States Air Force (USAF) identified the second set of lights as flares dropped by A-10 Warthog aircraft during a training exercise at Barrie Goldwater Range in southwestern Arizona. Witnesses claimed to have seen a huge square carpenter’s UFO with lights or possibly glowing engines inside. Then-Governor Fife Symington was an eyewitness to the incident.
