In the summer of 1947, there were a number of UFO sightings in the United States. Sometime in the first week of July 1947, a crash occurred near Roswell.
WW “Mack” Brazel, a rancher in New Mexico, rode out with his neighbors’ sons, Floyd and Loretta Proctor, to check on the sheep after a severe thunderstorm the night before.
As they moved on, Brazel noticed unusual pieces of metal strewn across a large area. Upon closer inspection, Brazel discovered a shallow trench several hundred feet long had been dug in the ground.
