The self-actualization phenomenon known as “The Secret” revolves around the time-honored New Age idea of the law of attraction: that is, think positively, and positive things will happen to you.
The film, which originally aired on the Internet, has been enhanced and expanded into this DVD release; yet it retains the essential elements that captivated millions.
Most of the material here is given in a straightforward manner, with the host just addressing the audience directly to the camera, which is fine because it avoids the pitfalls of pretense.
On the other hand, the quick change between presenters (wouldn’t it hurt to have them speak more than one sentence at a time?) doesn’t help because it reduces many of their points into tasty soundbites and aphorisms.
