A docuseries reveals how a secret agreement formed a cartel that controls the world’s oil. Throughout the region’s modern history, the Seven Sisters have attempted to control the balance of power since the discovery of oil.

They supported the monarchies of Iran and Saudi Arabia, opposed the establishment of OPEC, and benefited from the Iran-Iraq war that led to the eventual destruction of Saddam Hussein and Iraq.

By the late 1960s, the seven sisters, a major oil company, controlled 85 percent of the world’s oil reserves. Today they only control 10%.

New hunting grounds were therefore needed, and the sisters set their sights on Africa. With oil peaking, wars in the Middle East and rising crude prices, Africa has become the new battleground for oil companies.

In the Caucasus region, the United States and Russia compete for regional dominance. The big oil game is in full swing. Whoever controls the Caucasus and its roads controls the transport of oil in the Caspian Sea.

Tbilisi, Yerevan and Baku – the three capitals of the Caucasus. Oil in Baku, Azerbaijan is a strategic priority for all major companies.
