There’s No Tomorrow is a half-hour animated documentary about resource scarcity, energy, and the impossibility of infinite growth on a finite planet.

Inspired by pro-capitalist cartoons from the 1940s, this film addresses the energy dilemmas facing the world today.

“The average American today has at his disposal the equivalent of 150 slaves working 24 hours a day. The materials that store this work energy are called fuels. Some fuels contain more energy than others. This is called energy density.”

“Economic expansion leads to increases in atmospheric nitrous oxide and methane, ozone depletion, increases in major floods, damage to marine ecosystems including nitrogen runoff, loss of rainforests and forests, increased domestication of lands, and species extinctions.”

“The world’s food supply is heavily dependent on fossil fuels. Before World War I, all farming was organic. After the invention of fertilizers and pesticides made from can be increased. More people can be fed with artificial fertilizers than with organic farming alone.”
