Titanic’s Final Moments: Missing Pieces

Dramatic new discoveries about the fate of the world’s most famous ship. In 2005, an expedition exploring the wreck made an interesting discovery south of the stern debris field.

They said they found long metal strips. Unfortunately, the submersible’s camera equipment wasn’t working and they couldn’t prove what they saw.

But this opens up a new theory. Maybe those long streaks came from the bottom of the boat. If so, then the Titanic didn’t graze the side of the iceberg at all, it actually sailed over part of it.

We learned that icebergs don’t go directly under water (like a cliff); instead, the water causes the iceberg to form a shelf under the water.

Therefore, it is now suspected that the Titanic ran aground on an iceberg. If so, there may have been significant damage to the bottom of the ship in addition to the side cracks, which would explain why the ship sank in less than three hours.

If that’s true, it would also explain why the front of the ship is relatively intact, while the stern itself is compressed.
