Perhaps no event sparked a conspiracy frenzy more than the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. Trusser or: I’m Not a Conspiracy Theorist examines the movement by portraying some of the key figures who have successfully spread their suspicions and theories around the world.

The film begins at ground zero, and conspiracy activists continue to preach their views to the masses to this day. “9/11 was a lie,” said a truth-seeker standing near the scene. Cameras witness several explosive confrontations between truth fighters and deeply offended passers-by.

The consensus behind the movement is that the government covered up the real events of that terrible day. They question every detail – from the terrorists hijacking the plane to the aftermath of their crashing into the tower. Many who believe in the truth believe that the destruction was part of an “inside job” that may have involved the detonation of a controlled explosion, especially in connection with Building 7 near the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

The frenzy surrounding these theories was largely sparked and ignited by the controversial 2005 documentary Loose Change. The film includes a pivotal interview with the film’s director, Eric Wong. He talks about formative experiences that shaped his worldview. His struggling mother felt attacked by the government during the big bank housing scandal. His original inspiration for wanting to become a filmmaker came from the anti-authoritarian cult hit “Fight Club.” He rejected the idea that he was dealing with a harmful conspiracy.

The film also includes a conversation with Architects and Engineers of 9/11 Truth, a nonprofit dedicated to challenging accepted narratives of the attack. Mainstream media is often the center of their crusade.

As is evident throughout the film, these truth seekers claim their observations are based on science as they question the possibility of steel or buildings melting in free fall.

This movie will likely irritate many viewers who disagree with the major cover-up theory. Apart from the occasional criticism in the street, there is nothing against it in the film. Instead, it delves into the world of truth-seekers and lets their perspective take over.
